RTK GPS Training Course Outline

Module 1: Introduction to GPS concepts which covers the technology behind how GPS works which includes the differences between DGPS and RTK surveying and the accuracy differences between the two.

Module 2: Coordinate systems which discusses the differences between AMG and MGA and plane grids including site calibration theory. It also covers scale factors and how to apply Geoid models.
 
Module 3: RTK Surveying which covers theory on how it works using the Trimble range of GPS receivers and includes discussions on GLONASS and how to set up Survey Styles, radio configurations, optimizing base station and repeater radio placements including  tips and troubleshooting techniques.

Module 4: Trimble Access Software which covers the functionality and features available for RTK surveying including stakeout, pick up and feature coding etc. Also included is an introduction to Trimble Business Center software and different data download, upload and formatting options.

Module 5: Field Work which puts into practice all of the Modules above.

GPS Post Processing Course Outline

Module 1: Introduction to GPS Post Processing which covers the theory behind static and fast static surveying and the differences between RTK including accuracy differences and when to use.

Module 2: Mission planning and network design.

Module 3: Baseline Processing and troubleshooting techniques using Trimble Business Centre.

Module 4: Network Adjustment including minimally constrained and fully constrained networks.

Module 5: Field work. Perform a fast static survey and adjustment.

Roading Course Outline

Module 1: Introduction to Trimble Roads which covers road construction and Trimble Road Definitions including horizontal and vertical alignments and cross section templates.

Module 2: Road Stakeout using Trimble Access Software with Trimble RXL road format, GENIO format and LandXML format.

Module 3: Road Design using Trimble Business Centre software plus Key In Roads using Trimble Access Software.

Module 4: Creating Alignments from polylines in a DXF active Map using Trimble Access Software.

Module 5: Field Work which puts into practice all of the Modules above including road stakeout using cross sections and construction offsets along with slope staking, cross slope staking and real time re design.

Trimble® RealWorks® version 8.0 software includes a new 3D database engine, automated targetless registration and Web viewing capability incorporating RealWorks' Scan Explorer interface. These new enhancements will allow surveyors, contractors, engineers and geo-spatial professionals to rapidly process 3D laser scanning data and expedite the creation of deliverables for their clients, increasing productivity and reducing costs.
