RTK GPS Training Course Outline
Module 1: Introduction to GPS concepts which covers the technology behind how GPS works which includes the differences between DGPS and RTK surveying and the accuracy differences between the two.
Module 2: Coordinate systems which discusses the differences between AMG and MGA and plane grids including site calibration theory. It also covers scale factors and how to apply Geoid models.
Module 3: RTK Surveying which covers theory on how it works using the Trimble range of GPS receivers and includes discussions on GLONASS and how to set up Survey Styles, radio configurations, optimizing base station and repeater radio placements including tips and troubleshooting techniques.
Module 4: Trimble Access Software which covers the functionality and features available for RTK surveying including stakeout, pick up and feature coding etc. Also included is an introduction to Trimble Business Center software and different data download, upload and formatting options.
Module 5: Field Work which puts into practice all of the Modules above.
